If you ask my father, I am a young man standing at the doorway of a bright future.
If you ask my mother, I am her precious first child who simply needs a little guidance.
If you ask my younger sister, Adesuwa, I am a walking collection of embarrassing stories she intends to weaponize for the rest of my life.
Personally, I think the truth is somewhere in the middle.
My name is Idahosa Osagie.
I recently gained admission into the University of Lagos and, despite what a certain matriculation video may suggest, I am genuinely committed to getting an education.
I enjoy football, food, sleeping at inappropriate times, and making confident decisions with very little information.
Through these diary entries, I’ll be sharing the adventures, mistakes, friendships, near disasters, heartbreaks, victories, and unforgettable moments that come with navigating university life in Nigeria.
Some entries will make you laugh.
Some might remind you of your own campus days.
Others may simply convince you that your university experience was far more organized than mine.
Either way, welcome.
Classes have started.
The chaos has begun.
